Hello! My name is Clare Murphy, and I am a first-year missionary for Biking for Babies this year. I am a full-time working professional within the marketing & supply chain industry. I enjoy living an active lifestyle and am strongly devoted to my Catholic faith.
Since being part of the pro-life club at my college, I've wanted to be involved in the pro-life movement but didn't know how or what that would look like. I had heard of Biking for Babies through a variety of events within the Archdiocese of Milwaukee but didn't know if I had what it takes to commit to the months of training and formation leading up to the week of the National Ride. However, this past year, I felt called to radically give of myself for a greater purpose, and a dear friend of mine encouraged me to apply to be a Biking for Babies missionary.
This summer I will be biking from Green Bay, WI, to St. Louis MO, over the course of six days to be a witness for the Gospel of life. The physical and spiritual preparation, the fundraising efforts, and missionary formation over these next several months will allow me to unite the challenegs that lie ahead with Christ Himself and to be able to offer my own sufferings for women in unplanned pregnancies. Furthermore, throughout this formation period leading up to and including the week of the National Ride, I hope to grow in understanding the challenges those women and pregnancy resource centers face and how I can be an instrument to make a positive impact on them in some way, big or small. I hope to also help educate others of the need our society has in raising awareness to end the culture of death and pursue a culture of life.
