Hi I'm Leah! I live in Ohio and work at St. Mary Church and School, teaching the Faith to the little ones and serving as a secretary! I love God and am so blessed to be able to be a second-year support crew Biking for Babies missionary on the Ohio West team! I love my little nephew and baby nieces and enjoy spending time with them and their parents, my parents, other family, and friends. I love hiking and other outdoor activities.
Why do I want to be one of three support crew on the Ohio West team to help our six riders bike 600 miles to St. Louis, in 6 days? Because it is so much more than a bike ride. In my Biking for Babies prep I have been growing in my Faith and have been seeking to grow in sacrificial love after the example of Jesus. I wish to share with others the joyous message that their life and every human life has been created by God with infinite value and worth. Often women in unexpected pregnancies feel ashamed or trapped. They need to know that they are worthy of love and support. I seek to raise awareness for pregnancy resource centers which exist to provide this for these women. When a woman comes in to a pregnancy resource center, she may be given someone to listen and walk with her and help her in her need. This may include free pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, classes on parenting, shelter, clothing and diapers, and more. As most pregnancy resource centers are not-for-profit, I seek through my fundraising to raise funds for their life-affirming work.
